Kevin received a BA degree in Economics with a minor in music from Hofstra University and thereafter graduated from the North Carolina Central University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. He was also selected to serve as a Sr. Staff Member / Associate Editor on the NCCU Law School Law Journal. His law article, titled 'The Legal Recognition of Medical Malpractice Based upon Legal Theories of Wrongful Birth and Wrongful Life,' was published in the NCCU Law Journal, found in the North Carolina Central Law Review: Vol. 15: No. 2, Article 5 (Spring 1985). With this extensive background, he provides experienced legal solutions at his law firm, offering valuable legal advice to those in need.
During his last year of Law School, Kevin was offered a job working at the law firm of the late Civil Rights Attorney Floyd McKissick in Butner, North Carolina. However, Kevin chose to return to New York to accept a position as an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, where he served from 1985 to 1986. Following that, Kevin worked as a Deputy Assistant State’s Attorney in the Connecticut Chief State’s Attorney’s Office from 1986 to 1988, focusing on prosecuting assigned white collar crimes and providing experienced legal solutions to short-staffed State’s Attorney’s Offices statewide. From 1988 until 2000, Kevin formed a solo general private law practice in Eastern Suffolk County, NY, where he provided legal advice on criminal defense, real estate, landlord/tenant issues, and other select civil matters.
In summer 2000, Kevin accepted a very lucrative position with the New York MTA’s Long Island Railroad, where he prepared bid documents, awarded a multitude of multi-million dollar public works contracts, and negotiated contract claims and change orders. He remained in this role until his retirement in Fall 2021. Post-retirement from the MTA, Kevin re-activated his general private practice, where he now offers experienced legal solutions to clients. He is a member of the NY and Connecticut State bars, the EDNY and SDNY Federal bars, and the Federal bar for the District of Connecticut, providing legal advice across various legal matters.
Throughout his life, Kevin has always been very active with his music. Having written, arranged, produced, and performed music in various secular and non-secular groups, he currently serves as the Church Musician and Minister of Music for the First Baptist Church of Riverhead, under Pastor Charles A. Coverdale, where he showcases his talents as a pianist and organist every Sunday morning. In addition to his musical endeavors, Kevin is also an avid real estate investor and general contractor, building several residential homes in Eastern Suffolk County. He understands the importance of experienced legal solutions in real estate, often seeking legal advice from a reputable law firm. Kevin is married to his loving wife Jumarie and is a proud father to his two daughters, Kimberly and Marie.
